By unanimous vote, plans for billionaire businessman Tilman Fertitta's resort casino were approved by the Clark County Commission in Nevada on Wednesday. The luxury resort will consist of 43 stories and include 2,420 hotel rooms, a 2,536 seat theater, and a parking garage with multiple levels. Also included in the plans are retail spaces, dining- both indoors and outdoors, a spa and fitness center, convention areas, offices, and a wedding chapel.

Developers are betting big on Vegas's recovery. The new casino is part of a spate of projects to break ground in Sin City. Other projects on deck for the near future include:

  • $600 million renovation of the Las Vegas Convention Center

  • $1.8 billion MSG Sphere entertainment arena.

  • $550 million Dream Las Vegas hotel and casino.

  • $240 million land deal for Formula 1 race track development.

  • $5 billion Helios medical campus.

Large scale projects in the city have been booming since the pandemic and Fertitta's resort casino looks to be the next in line.
